French Theory is a partner of the Rencontres Internationales Paris-Berlin – OK
From Tuesday February 25th to Sunday March 1st, Paris is hosting the Rencontres Internationales Paris-Berlin, a creative event showcasing new forms of cinema and contemporary art. But what forms do they take and what do they have in common; and how is contemporary society fashioned by the culture of the image?
To answer these exciting questions, the Rencontres are presenting an events programme with a selection of 107 recent works by established artists and film directors, as well as young talents. 90% of the works are being shown for the first time in public and the screenings, exhibitions and performances will be taking place at such prestigious venues as the Grand Palais and the Louvre Auditorium. And to top it all off, admission to all of these events will be free to ensure equal access to culture!
French Theory is proud to be a partner of the Rencontres. To help you choose from among the many superb events scheduled this year, we’ve chosen three that are definitely not to be missed. Who knows, we may well see you there.
La Twin Peaks VR Experience
– The Twin Peaks VR Experience at the Louvre Auditorium. Designed in collaboration with David Lynch and his team, this experience recreates the strange and mysterious atmosphere of the series in VR, with an escape game vibe to boot. Do we need to tell you just how excited we are?
– Mark Lewis carte blanche. This Canadian artist has made a name for himself over the last twenty years or so thanks to his experimental approach to photographic techniques. We can’t wait to see his latest discoveries.
– And finally, a new creation by La Horde. We are truly fascinated by the work of this French collective, whose members combine video and contemporary dance (very contemporary) with an original and surprising mise en scène. We wouldn’t be surprised if we were totally knocked out by their latest creation that premieres at the Rencontres… it wouldn’t be the first time.
