Welcome to French Theory’s culture-packed website – ok
For no other reason than the fact we feel passionate about Paris’s Left Bank and its many legends, we’d like to invite you to discover (or rediscover) this unique area where history, culture and magic rub shoulders under the cobblestones.
French Theory, 18 rue Cujas, 75 005, Paris - France
Because everybody has heard of the Sorbonne, the Panthéon and the Jardin des Plantes, but not everyone knows exactly what’s what, we have decided to show these neighbourhoods in a new and original light.
Because people these days are just as likely to get their dose of culture on screens as in the city’s streets, auditoriums and museums, we hope our articles, playlists, places to go and unique reports devised by our specially designated editorial team will add to and prolong your exploration of Paris.
Because we believe in mixing genres and bringing together people from different generations, in the upcoming months we’ll be telling you about some incredible book shops, clearing up several age-old misconceptions, reviewing rap albums, meeting some friendly rascals who love stirring things up, taking a look at street art and discovering places with a story to tell that are definitely a part of history with a capital H.
Because music lies at the heart of our lives, on this page you will find playlists created by Allo Floride, to either stream at home or listen to on top quality vinyl in French Theory’s audio lab.
Because it’s impossible to talk about culture without evoking the people without whom there would be no culture, every three months we’ll be giving pride of place to a selection of artists, writers and thinkers with a series of long interviews and recommendations we have come up with just for you.
And finally, because here at French Theory we have a philosophy: just like cooking, wine and kisses, culture is above all made for sharing.
